25 Humorous Tanka and Kyoka edited by Joann Morcom seeks submissions
The Special Features section of the Atlas Poetica website is seeking submissions for a collection of 25 humorous tanka and kyoka edited by Joanne Morcom to be published on the AtlasPoetica.org website. Humor is a universal human experience and means of expression. In literature, as in daily life, it takes many forms, including dry wit, irony, incongruity, parody, pun, satire and surprise. Many of you already compose humorous tanka and kyoka, but even if you don’t, consider looking at the world with your funny bone completely exposed and writing about it. I look forward to reading your mirthful poems and laughing out loud.
The general Atlas Poetica guidelines apply, therefore poets must be 16 or older. Please visit for complete guidelines and to view previous Special Features. Poems should be contained in the body of an email. Please query before sending attachments.
Submissions: Poets are invited to send up to twenty poems each, but only one poem will be chosen by each poet, in keeping with the theme and format of the ’25 Poems’ features on the Atlas Poetica website. Socially published poems are acceptable, as long as they include previous publication information.
Deadline: Deadline for submitting to ’25 Humorous Tanka and Kyoka’ is June 10th, 2017. The planned publication date is summer 2017. Special Features are published on an irregular schedule.
